How to Replace the Micro Switch on the Active 2.3 Pressure Washer Pump

The micro switch in your Active 2.3 pressure washer is crucial for ensuring the unit stops when the trigger is released. If you’re noticing your pressure washer continues running, it’s may be worth inspecting your microswitch. If it needs to be replaced, follow these steps to unmount, disassemble, replace, and reassemble your pressure washer, bringing it back to full operation.

 

Unmounting the Active 2.3 Pressure Washer

  1. Unmount the Active 2.3 from the wall: Use a 13mm socket wrench to detach it from the wall mount.
  2. Position for disassembly: Place the Active 2.3 on a flat surface with the mounting side down.
  3. Remove bolts from cage: Support the motor with one hand and remove the four bolts on the cage's bottom with the 13mm socket wrench.
  4. Secure bolts: Keep the bolts in a safe place for reassembly.
  5. Prepare for micro switch installation: Remove the pressure washer from the cage, place it on a protected surface, and position the electric box facing up.

Replacing the Micro Switch

For this process, gather the following tools: Phillips screwdriver, flathead screwdriver, wire-cutting pliers, and the replacement micro switch.

  1. Remove screws: Use the Phillips screwdriver to remove the three screws from the pressure washer’s circuit body and store them safely.
  2. Access micro switch: Position the pump and motor vertically on the motor fan cover, locate the U-clip, and remove it to release the old micro switch.
  3. Open the electric circuit: Remove the cover to access the internal wiring.
  4. Detach old switch: Cut the wires connected to the micro switch from the motor.
  5. Remove the old micro switch: Fully detach the micro switch wire and terminal from the electric box.
  6. Install new micro switch: Connect the black and white wires of the new switch as shown, ensuring a secure fit.
  7. Connect to motor wiring: Attach the new switch wiring to the motor and tighten firmly.
  8. Reassemble electric box: Tuck the wiring inside, replace the cover, and reinstall the screws, tightening them firmly.
  9. Reinstall U-clip: Secure the new micro switch casing to the pump and reinstall the U-clip.

Remounting the Active 2.3 in the Steel Cage

  1. Place nuts and feet: Align the rubber feet and nuts as indicated.
  2. Reinsert the pressure washer: Position it in the cage, aligning the motor with the four cage screw holes.
  3. Insert and align bolts: Place the bolts through the bottom of the cage, hand-turning them to secure the connection.
  4. Final alignment: Ensure the pump is aligned with the cage body and hand-tighten the bolts.
  5. Tighten bolts: Use a 13mm socket wrench to firmly secure the pressure washer in the cage, tightening until resistance is felt to prevent vibrations.

With this replacement, your Active 2.3 pressure washer is back in reliable, working condition. This micro switch repair process not only extends the life of your pressure washer but also prevents unexpected operational issues.
