Active™ 2.3 Electric Pressure Washer

So coming from a $219 2000psi Bauer electric to the 2.3, still using my Active gun and MTM PF22.2 cannon, I always had decent suds, or so I thought. Using the same amount of soap, my suds today (arrived this morning) were so creamy and rich, I couldn’t believe and still trying to wrap my head around why so drastic of a difference. I’m not complaining whatsoever, was already a freak about washing the vehicles, but I might just start wasting product to see those luxurious suds. 😬

I pre-ordered the 2.3 with great anticipation. After receiving the unit, I was surprised at the quality of the foam cannon and gun that came with in. For a $650 pressure washer, those are very disappointing. It seemed like Active was banking on purchasers already having quality equipment to use in lieu of the trash that it came with. Thankfully I did, and thus, my experience with it was much improved. I'd much rather they take the cost of the foam cannon, washer gun, and hose (though the hose isn't nearly as bad as the other stuff) and deducted those things from the cost.
The unit itself is pretty noisy compared to similar ones in it's price range. Performance-wise, it's impressive. The output is strong, the foam with a QUALITY foam cannon is great, and its ease of use is a huge perk. It's not light, but it's not bad at all. The frame makes moving it a breeze. The only issue I had with function was a rapid reduction in output randomly which I chocked up to a bend in the inlet hose I was using. Not entirely sure if it's part of normal operation but the unit felt warm to the touch after use. Not burning hot, but definitely warm enough to pique my curiosity.
All in all, I'm enjoying using it, but don't agree with the price point. I think that for about $100 more, you can get a professional level model that has a proven history of reliability. This thing looks very nice, and is awesome to wash a car with, but I'm not sure I'd purchase it again knowing what I know now. I worry about the longevity of it, and hope that in the event that its reliability isn't fantastic, Active will make things right. Only time will tell, though I look forward to continued use.

I've been an Active fanboi since the VE52 and also own the 2.0. So I thought that the 2.3 would be just as good. Too bad I sold off my 2.0 to a lucky person on Marketplace. That was a much better pressure washer than this 2.3. I wish I can go back and never purchased this 2.3. I was excited about the 2.3 since CarsWithKeav had an active discount coupon code and looked forward to it.

The finish quality is just not good, the metal frame doesn't look and feel smooth. The frame is also very big, there's lots of empty space between the pressure washer and the frame, making it just a waste of storage space in your home. My wife was definitely not a fan of this.

The pressure washer performs okay but I don't feel that the price is justified for the amount of money you pay over the 2.0 since performance-wise, it feels the same. The warranty is also the same as the 2.0 so I don't think that even the Active team feels confident that the pump will last longer.

For those who haven't invested in one yet, I would suggest waiting as the Active team is known for fixing issues after release and takes their customer's opinion and revises their product.

The 2.3 is a great pressure washer. It hits all the specs for a quality automotive detailing unit. The only downside is it is a little noisier than the premium professional units. I liken the sound to a small portable air compressor drone. The hose is of good quality will not kink and lies flat despite being on the stiff side. The gun is serviceable but the snow foam cannon is laughable. It works but does not really produce thick foam.

I wish active offered wall mount/reel like BB. A nice wall mount and a rolling floor stand that was made to fit and bolt right up to the unit in a nice compact package would be a very nice addition.
