Essential Guide to Replacing O-Rings in Your Pressure Washer

O-rings are small but crucial components in your pressure washer, ensuring secure, leak-free connections between parts. Because they’re wearable, they aren’t covered under warranty, making regular inspection and replacement essential for keeping your pressure washer in top shape. Here’s what you need to know about finding and replacing these parts.

Where to Find O-Rings in Your Pressure Washer

Your pressure washer comes with various accessories such as hoses, guns, lances, nozzles, and foam cannons. Below are the common locations for O-rings in these parts:

  • Hose: Each end of the M22-14mm connections has a single O-ring to seal the connection.
  • Gun: The outlet side of the gun has a double O-ring that seals the connection with the lance and foam cannon.
  • Lance: The outlet side of the lance has a single O-ring that seals the connection with the nozzles.

Note that the nozzle and foam cannon do not contain O-rings, but regular cleaning can help prevent clogging:

  • Nozzles: Use a cleaning needle to remove debris from the nozzle hole.
  • Foam Cannon: After each use, rinse the foam cannon with clear water by removing the bottle and attaching the foam cannon nozzle to the lance.

Internal O-Rings in the Pressure Washer

Inside your pressure washer, O-rings are used in the piston seals and chambers. However, these internal parts are sealed, so you typically won’t need to replace them.

O-Rings in the Pump Inlet and Outlet

The pump inlet has an O-ring sealing the brass connection and includes a garden hose filter on the outside. The pump outlet, on the other hand, has two O-rings: one seals the inlet connection, and the other seals the unloader valve inside the outlet.

How to Replace O-Rings

Replacing O-rings is straightforward with the Active O-ring Kit, which you can order by calling 1-844-777-4555. You’ll need a small screwdriver or pick to remove the old O-ring and insert the new one. For the pump inlet and outlet O-rings, these are only available as part of the pump replacement kit.
